In 2025, Gilchrist County celebrates its Centennial. To honor our history and the pioneers who originally settled here, we need to identify those families and their descendants.
The Florida State Genealogical Society sponsors a program for Florida Pioneer Descendants which includes County Pioneers. Join us as Paula presents more
information about the Centennial celebrations planned throughout the year and how you can research your ancestry to prove they were Gilchrist County pioneers. These are families that were settled in Gilchrist county prior to December 4, 1925. Please call the library to register for the program at 352-463-3176 so we’ll know how many to expect.
